Union City Branch Manager Retires

Mira Geroy worked for the Union City Library for 10 years before stepping down in February.

 

If you're a Union City Library regular, then you know that a familiar face is missing.

Branch manager Mira Geroy retired in February.

According to a City of Union City newsletter, Geroy worked at the library for 10 years. She starting as a manager of jail services before being promoted to her most recent role in July 2005.

"She has been an exemplary manager whose creativity and hard work in Union City has led the library to have a high level of service to the community," the city said in a statement earlier this month.

Library administration hope to hire a new manager by late summer. Until then, Peggy Watson, head of branches for the Alameda County Library, will be the primary contact.
