Union City Police Issue Hot Weather Warning

UNION CITY, CA - On a hot summer night, many of us enjoy sleeping with the windows open to get fresh air.

But the Union City Police Department is warning residents that leaving windows and even doors open, leaves you open to crime.

A cat burglar is a burglar who enters homes and commits a theft while the victims are home. It's a risky crime for the thief but there have been some cat burglaries reported recently in Union City. 

The thief (or thieves) entered by climbing through open windows or going through unlocked doors. 

Police remind residents to lock up your home or apartment every night, regardless of weather.

And if you see something, say something -- call police if you see suspicious people in your neighborhood.
