Union City Teen Stars in Disney Channel Comedy
Stand-up comedian Joey Bragg, 17, stars as a supporting character in "Liv and Maddie," premiering this Sunday on Disney Channel.

We’ve kept an eye on Union City teen Joey Bragg since catching him at the San Jose Improv three years ago. At 14, he respectfully mopped up his elders in the popular comedy club’s annual stand-up competition to place second.
But we aren’t the only ones who took notice of Joey’s natural quick wit and mature humor.
Now 17 — and with a role in Nickelodeon’s “Fred 3: Camp Fred” and a viral Xbox ad with short-statured comedy giant Kevin Hart in the bag — Joey’s ready to break out.

This Sunday, Sept. 15, Joey makes his Disney Channel debut as a star in “Liv and Maddie.”
The family comedy follows the day-to-day of identical sisters Liv and Maddie Rooney (played by actress Dove Cameron). One’s a TV star attempting to return to normal life, the other a school athlete trying to escape her sister’s shadow.

Joey plays sibling Joey Rooney, described on the show’s website as, “The awkwardly confident brother. Although he is only slightly younger than Liv and Maddie, he is much less mature.”
Watch a preview of the show above (Joey’s the one shoving his younger brother into his armpit) and catch the premier this Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Disney Channel.
