The free exhibit is at Sun Gallery.

HAYWARD, CA – Artworks created by veterans are on display in the Ken Cook Room at Sun Gallery in Hayward.

The works include visual storytelling, textile artworks, paintings, and collaborative community artworks.

"For the last two years, the Veterans Art Project has brought creative expression workshops to the Oakland VetCenter to support the crucial services provided to our Alameda County veterans and their families," Alameda County reports. "The goal is to provide veterans with opportunities to express themselves in a supportive environment, explore visual art making techniques, and engage in community building. Over the course of 10 art activities in the past year, 200 veterans created art during counseling groups and community events."
