Volunteer and Make A Difference in Union City This Saturday

National Make A Difference Day is being held Saturday, Oct. 26 in cities throughout the country.

Help make a difference in Union City this Saturday during Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of service. 

Sponsored by the City of Union City, the daylong event will be Union City’s 16th Make A Difference Day.

Volunteers will participate in a number of activities throughout the city such as planting trees, removing graffiti and other beautification projects.

Projects including landscaping and clean water upgrades at the Union City Boulevard and Jean Drive intersection; creek cleanup at Civic Center; beautification of the Meyers Estate and the railroad corridor between H Street and Decoto Road; and graffiti removal along the San Andreas Park Trail at Interstate 880.

Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate in the event. Students will be able to earn community service hours for their participation, according to the City of Union City.
