The Butcher's Daughter Wants To Help End Period Poverty
Join the Butcher's Daughter Sunday in Venice to help end period poverty with the PERIOD movement.
VENICE, CA — The Butcher's Daughter is working to help end period poverty and will host an event Sunday to collect menstrual product donations.
Donations collected Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon will benefit the PERIOD movement. PERIOD helps to distribute menstrual products to communities in need.
The group donates an average of about 60,000 period products each week. In 2020, 3.4 million pieces of period product were provided to communities through the organization.

PERIOD is a youth-fueled, global nonprofit and movement fighting to eradicate period poverty and the stigma through service, education and advocacy.
"Through the distribution of menstrual products, promotion of youth leadership, and championing of menstrual equity in policy, PERIOD aims to center those disproportionately affected by period poverty and support local efforts for menstrual equity," according to the organization.

Butcher's Daughter is located at 1205 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice. Items donated Sunday must be in the original, unopened packaging.
