Chicas Tacos Opening In Venice

VENICE, CA — Chicas Tacos is bringing the flavor and Mexican culinary favorites to Venice, along with some exclusive dishes just for Dogtown.

The fast casual, award-winning taco company opens May 5 — just in time for Cinco de Mayo — inside Whole Foods Market, 225 Lincoln Blvd., Venice.

The menu will feature all of the favorites from the Chicas Tacos menu, but also includes a few additional eats such as the grilled fish taco, leche de tigre ceviche, and added plant-based options. These items are all exclusive to the Venice location and available only there.

The menu has tons of options and takes on classics. Expect Chicas Impossible and Beer Battered Fish Tacos, nachos, burritos and bowls. None of its ingredients are frozen.

Chicas Director of Tacos and Executive Chef Eduardo Ruiz created some new menu items exclusive to the Whole Foods Market Venice location.

“We’ve decided to launch some unique dishes, specifically with the Whole Foods Market shopper in mind,” Chef Ruiz said. “We’re excited to introduce our grilled fish taco, leche de tigre ceviche and added plant-based options which we think will resonate well with our new Venice community.”

The new Venice location will be the company's third opening in 2021.

Chicas Tacos opened its Culver City location at 9343 Culver Blvd, Culver City, in January 2020. They also launched two other locations in February 2021: Chicas Beverly Grove, 8312 W 3rd St., Los Angeles and Chicas Tacos at All Season Brewing Co., 800 S. La Brea Ave.

Chicas launched in downtown Los Angeles in 2016 and was founded by marketing veteran Chris Blanchard, James Beard award-nominated Chef Eduardo Ruiz, and BLVD Hospitality founders Jon Blanchard and Nicolo Rusconi.

Chicas Tacos Venice will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (times may vary due to COVID-19). Limited outdoor seating outside Whole Foods Market is available at the store. Visit www.chicastacos.com for more information.
