The Mar Vista Green Gardens Showcase had over 2,000 participants last year.

The rainy season is not over yet in Southern California, and the Mar Vista Green Committee on Sunday will show people how to capture and reuse rain water.

This Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Green Tent at the Mar Vista Farmers Market on Grand View and Venice boulevards, experts will discuss how to properly collect rain water.

And on April 20, the Mar Vista Green Gardens Showcase will celebrate its 5th annual home tour that highlights drought-tolerant landscapes and edible gardens.

The showcase focuses mostly on California native gardens that support pollinators such as honey bees and monarch butterflies, and gardens that create a communal space.
