Experts: Homelessness & Mental Health Reach Humanitarian Crisis
Venice Family Clinic will discuss how homelessness and mental health has led to a humanitarian crisis during the pandemic.

VENICE, CA — As the number of people experiencing homelessness rises across Los Angeles County each year, street medicine practitioners are facing a humanitarian crisis as they care for more people with mental and behavioral health issues.
Join an upcoming conversation this week with Venice Family Clinic. The discussion will ask the following questions: How did we get here? What historical, social and political forces have contributed to our current reality? Do behavioral and mental health concerns contribute to becoming homeless or arise from the trauma of experiencing homelessness? What is happening to address this catastrophe during the pandemic – and what does the future hold for this humanitarian crisis?
Join Venice Family Clinic for this virtual discussion 2 p.m. Thursday and for answers to these relevant and critical questions in the community.
