Fire Damages Andonded Westside Building
Firefighters battled for a half-hour to keep a commercial fire from spreading to other businesses in Sawtelle.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters extinguished a blaze in an abandoned building in the Sawtelle section of Los Angeles in just 30 minutes this morning.
Crews responded to the one-story commercial building at 11950 Missouri Ave. at 4:24 a.m. and found black smoke pouring out of the structure, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 28 firefighters battled the blaze, some of whom forced entry into the building and extinguished the fire inside and kept it from spreading to nearby businesses, Prange said.

A knockdown was declared at 4:54 a.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
