OC-Bound Flight Diverted To LAX Due To Mechanical Issues

Mechanical issues forced a Delta Airlines flight with a destination of Orange County to land at Los Angeles International Airport.

LOS ANGELES -- Mechanical issues forced a Delta Airlines flight with a destination of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, to land safely at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday.

Delta Flight 439 left Atlanta at 10 a.m. with a scheduled 11:40 a.m. landing at John Wayne Airport, according to the Delta Airlines website, before it was diverted to LAX.

The plane landed safely at 11:40 a.m. at LAX, airport spokeswoman Olga Gallardo told City News Service.

According to sources at the scene, there were 159 people aboard the plane and the mechanical issue was specifically hydraulic issues.
