Lakers Warn of Shady Scalpers Exploiting Kobe's Retirement

The Los Angeles Lakers a warning fans eager to catch Kobe Bryant's last couple games to beware of people peddling bogus tickets.

LOS ANGELES, CA - Two days ahead of Kobe Bryant's final game, the Los Angeles Lakers today warned fans to beware of people trying to capitalize by peddling bogus tickets.

The team urged fans to be wary of buying tickets from third-party sources, and instead buy them either directly from the team or through the Lakers Ticket Exchange at Lakers.com.

"We want to make sure buyers are knowledgeable about purchasing tickets from the secondary market," said Tim Harris, the team's senior vice president of business operations. "Lakers Ticket Exchange at Lakers.com is the only secondary site where purchases are authenticated and verified by Ticketmaster, and fans will be assured of entrance into Staples Center on game nights.
