Parking Upgrades Coming To Abbot Kinney In Venice
The city's first motorcycle parking and on-street, dockless parking for scooters and bikes are coming to Venice.

VENICE, CA — Better, more efficient and accessible parking is heading to Abbot Kinney in Venice, Los Angeles parking officials announced this week.
"This design aims to create an organized, easy-to-use street," said Seleta Reynolds, general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. "It reflects the multi-modal reality of Abbot-Kinney, one of L.A.'s most popular destinations, and supports businesses, community, and the visitor experience."
Some of the new parking includes the city’s first dedicated motorcycle parking stalls and a new on-street, dockless device parking to clear up sidewalks from rideshare scooters and bikes.

These updates are included in the L.A. Express Park Program. It launched in 2021 and aims to increase parking in the city, reducing traffic and pollution. People can use the mobile app or website to see parking guidance, information and availability or pricing before beginning a trip. It can also give people options on deciding what kind of transportation they might want to use.
City parking is working with Los Angeles City Councilmember Mike Bonin to improve parking in the area.

"Abbot Kinney has emerged as one of the most popular retail and dining destinations in the city of Los Angeles. That success has come with challenges. Local businesses wanted a better customer experience, while residents needed relief," Bonin said. "This project will make it easier for visitors while reducing spillover parking and congestion in the neighborhood, a win-win for businesses and residents. I'm excited to give people more convenient options to travel in Venice."
