Police Shoot and Wound Man in Venice After Shots Fired During Domestic Dispute
The LAPD's SWAT unit is called out after a man barricades himself during a domestic dispute in Venice in which shots were fired.
Police shot and wounded a man in Venice early Friday after shots were fired while they investigating a domestic violence dispute, officials said.
The shooting occurred about 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Penmar Avenue and Lake Street after officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division heard gunshots while responding to a call of a domestic dispute, a sergeant said. The LAPD's SWAT team was called after the suspect barricaded himself and the man was shot after he came out with a gun, police said.
The man was shot in the shoulder and was expected to survive.
No officers were injured in the incident, said Capt. Brian Johnson of the LAPD's Pacific Division in an update on Twitter.
