Sleeping Man Killed By Hit And Run Driver In Venice Identified
Police on Friday, identified the 35-year-old man killed when a hit and run driver ran over his sleeping bag near the Venice boardwalk.
VENICE, CA — Authorities Friday identified a homeless man who was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle as he slept near the Venice Boardwalk, and investigators continued their efforts to find the suspect.
Eddie Davis, 35, was struck by the vehicle about 1:30 a.m. Thursday on Speedway near Wavecrest Court and died at the scene, according to the coroner's office.
Davis was sleeping in a sleeping bag on a sidewalk when he was fatally injured by a dark-colored SUV that kept going.
