Stanley Cup Makes the Rounds to Venice Beach
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell brings the Stanley Cup to Venice Beach.
The Stanely Cup made it out to Venice Beach on Sunday with Los Angeles Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell.
Mitchell, a Canadian who lives part-time in Venice, brought hockey's top trophy to the beach as part of the National Hockey League tradition that allows each player on the championship team to spend a day with the Stanley Cup.
Mitchell, 35, hoisted the cup above his head in one photo in which he was flanked by surfers and the cup is shown basking on the sand in another.
