Suspect In Brutal Attack On Venice Street Performer Arrested
A suspect who attacked a Venice street performer Sunday was arrested, the Los Angeles Police Department announced this week.

VENICE, CA — A suspect who was captured on video attacking a 61-year-old street performer in Venice Sunday was arrested, according to the Los Angeles Department Pacific Division.
The brutal attack happened Sunday about 12:40 p.m. in the 500 block of Ocean Front Walk, near Paloma Avenue, police said.
Macio Harger, 45, randomly approached the victim and punched him in the face, according to detectives. The victim lost consciousness after he was punched. Harger fled the area.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
Harger is homeless and was residing in one of the homeless encampments on the Venice Beach boardwalk close to where the incident took place, according to police.

Harger was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury, police said. His bail was set at $50,000.
"Detectives are currently in the process of determining a motive for the attack," police said.
