Ted Lieu Responds To California 33rd District Election Win

Rep. Ted Lieu responded to his constituents Friday, sharing a statement and thanking them for their support following his re-election.

VENICE, CA — Democratic incumbent Ted Lieu released a statement Friday following his re-election to California's 33rd Congressional District.

In his newsletter, Lieu Review, he thanked his constituents for their support and shared this statement:

"Thank you for putting your trust in me as your Representative in the United States Congress. I am deeply honored and grateful to continue serving you and your families in Washington as a strong advocate and voice for CA-33. We have a lot of work to do as we continue to battle the COVID-19 crisis and I am ready to fight for a fairer and brighter future for us all. Let’s get to work!"

Lieu faced off against Republican challenger James P. Bradley to represent LA's Westside and South Bay in Congress. Both Lieu and Bradley are veterans. They had advanced from the primary election in March.

Lieu is an Air Force veteran is currently serving his his third term in Congress. He sits on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He was also elected by his Democratic Colleagues to serve as a Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. His term started January 2015 is set to end in January 2021.

Lieu is planning an event for veterans on Sunday at 2 p.m. and encouraged locals to join.

"This weekend, I’ll be joining a group of local veterans for a live, virtual Conversations with Veterans event," Lieu said. "Each year, I host this event to foster a greater understanding between veterans and the communities they serve. I invite you to join us to hear inspiring stories from your local heroes."
