Venice Among Airbnb's Most Desirable Location For Travelers In LA

VENICE, CA — People have missed travel the most in the pandemic and Venice is among Los Angeles' most desired neighborhoods to visit in Los Angeles, according to a recent Airbnb report.

The city of Angels was the most wish-listed destination on Airbnb in 2021, the vacation platform announced Wednesday.

Over a quarter of the people who wish-listed Los Angeles said their top priority for travel was relaxation.

"Hugged between mountains and the ocean, the natural landscape of L.A.'s laidback enclaves like Venice Beach and Silver Lake might be enough to bring travelers peace of mind," a report by Airbnb said.

Remote work and online learning have helped make travel more attainable for people in the pandemic, however, many travelers aim to avoid crowds. They are also looking at ways to stay safe.

People are also looking for affordable travel in 2021, especially as they grapple with personal financial challenges.

"Affordability is the top priority overall when it comes to choosing accommodation not just for the first trip but for future travel indefinitely (54%), beating health and safety protocols by 10 points," according to Airbnb.

"Nearly three in five Americans (58%) earning less than $50,000 per year say they are booked, planning or expecting to travel in 2021," Airbnb said. "Based on ongoing Airbnb guest survey data, a majority of guests—including 53% of all homes guests in 2019—tell us they choose Airbnb to save money while traveling."
