Venice Beach Neighbors Show USPS Worker Some Love (Video)
A crowd of Venice Beach neighbors on Saturday celebrated a local USPS worker who was distributing packages. Check out the video.

VENICE BEACH, CA — As news of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Sen. Kamala Harris hit Venice Beach Saturday one neighborhood celebrated a local hero—a USPS worker out on the job.

In this video, you can see a crowd of Venice locals celebrating the news Saturday in the street, then cheering on the USPS worker as he passes by, carrying a package. At nearby Abbot Kinney, a dance party filled up the street and stopped traffic.

The crowd chants "U-S-P-S" and locals thanked the USPS for their service.
Venice wasn't the only place where this show of appreciation happened—similar kudos were shared in Brooklyn, too.

USPS had faced funding cut threats from President Donald Trump before the election, with the president saying in August that he didn't want people to use the national service for mail-in voting.
Mailboxes were also removed throughout the U.S., including the Westside.
