  • Candid conversations—Some members of underserved communities have concerns about COVID-19 vaccines. Building trust via candid conversations has proven key. For example, an online town hall reached more than 40,000 members of the Black community. Through its Community Conversations series, the Community Health Improvement team has held open dialogues with Asian and Latinx residents. Plans also are underway to hold forums specifically for families with children with other communities, including Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander.
  • Increased access—Working in partnership with trusted institutions and organizations in underserved areas, Cedars-Sinai has been holding pop-up clinics in L.A. neighborhoods with low vaccination rates and at the Beverly Center. The shots-in-arms tally thus far is nearly 71,000. Until the pandemic reaches rearview status, vaccination clinics will continue, and are now open to adolescents 12-15 years old.
