Young Man Beaten To Death In Venice, Killers At Large

A witness reported seeing three me beating the man in a homeless encampment.

VENICE, CA — A man in his 20s was beaten to death Sunday in Venice, authorities said.

It was reported at 7:20 p.m. at Fifth and Rose avenues, Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center said.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, he said.

A witness told officers the man was beaten by three men who also appeared to be in their 20s during an apparent dispute, Orris said. The suspects fled the scene.

CBS2 reported the beating was in a homeless encampment.
