Emergency Housing Assistance Funds Available In Walnut Creek

Residents may receive up to six months of emergency housing assistance based on the eligibility, need, and funding availability.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Walnut Creek is pleased to announce a partnership with SHELTER, Inc. for emergency housing (mortgage and utility) assistance for low-income homeowner-occupied households. The program is made possible from Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to support low-income households affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Housing Assistance Program Highlights

  • Applicant must be an eligible low-income homeowner-occupied household
  • Homeowner-occupied household's inability to pay housing (mortgage or utility) bills must be due to COVID-19
  • Available funding is limited

Homeowner-occupied households who need mortgage assistance funds should apply as soon as possible. Residents may receive up to six months of emergency housing assistance based on the eligibility, need, and funding availability. For more information, please inquire with the organization what the qualifications are for the assistance programs.
