Vintage Real Estate Photos Uncovered in Walnut Creek

Image mid-century modern homes, when they were simply ‘modern.’

Sam Benson of Sam Benson Realty and Walnut Creek Seniors came across a box of old photos showing home sales in Walnut Creek.

Some are labeled with addresses and sales prices right on the front, but others are unadorned.

“It’s amazing to see homes now worth upwards of a million dollars selling for around sixty thousand a few decades back. The photos really capture an era. My goal is to get the community involved with this project and have the history of these photos come to life online,” said Benson.

Benson has posted all of the photos on his Facebook page and is inviting local residents to “claim” their home and tell its story. Click on the photos tab and leaf through them. If you find your home, or your old home, leave a comment under the photo.

The photos and comments may eventually be turned into a book.
