  The County of Santa Cruz will be hosting Santa Cruz County veterans at a Salute and Send-off of the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building, which will also include a brief opportunity for veterans to enter the building one last time before the building is seismically retrofitted.
              This event will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2012, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (the McPherson Center) at 705 Front Street and will continue at 12:00 p.m. in front of the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building, 846 Front Street. The event will include a performance by VFW Post 5888’s Tin Can Band as well as a ceremonious lowering of the flags. Veterans will then be allowed to enter the building to say their goodbyes.
