CHP IDs Man Killed In Highway 156 Crash: Monterey County

The victim was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to the CHP.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — The driver who died Tuesday near Castroville when he lost control of his GMC Sierra has been identified as 26-year-old Daniel Guyton, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Guyton, a Castroville resident, was traveling eastbound in unincorporated Monterey County on state Highway 156 from northbound state Highway 1 at a high rate of speed about 9 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into two poles before overturning.

Guyton was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, the CHP said.
