City Of Watsonville: 2021 Fireworks Enforcement

This 2021, the Watsonville Police Department has made some changes in hopes of discouraging residents from setting off illegal fireworks before and during the fourth of July holiday.

Tenants or property owners will now be cited if there is evidence that illegal fireworks were at the property, were sold at the property, or set off at the property. Officers will issue a $1,000 fine per violation.

As in past years, officers will have zero tolerance for illegal fireworks.

Please keep in mind that pinpointing the location of where illegal fireworks are being set off can be an extremely difficult task. While they may appear to be nearby, in reality, they could be blocks away.

To report illegal fireworks, call 831-471-1151. Please make sure to have the following information ready:

• Location
• Are the fireworks ground or aerial?
• Do the fireworks pose a hazard?

Only call 9-1-1 if the fireworks pose a hazard.
