Domestic Violence Case Leads To Man's Arrest For Drugs, Guns: WPD

During the arrest, officers seized three guns, more than $6,000 in cash and nearly $150,000 worth of drugs, police said.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Police in Watsonville have arrested a man in connection with several crimes including possession of drugs and guns. Joshua Contreras, 36, was arrested on suspicion of crimes related to domestic violence, possession of firearms and possession of drugs, according to the Watsonville Police Department.

During Contreras' arrest, officers seized three guns and nearly $150,000 worth of drugs, police said. Contreras was arrested Saturday during an investigation into a domestic violence case in the 400 block of Palm Avenue. During a search of Contreras' car, officers found an AR-15 and two revolvers. Police said the AR-15 was not registered and did not have a serial number on it.

Police also found a pound and a half of heroin, more than four ounces of methamphetamine, almost half an ounce of cocaine and body armor. Police also seized more than $6,000 in cash that Contreras had with him.
