El Andalón (The Healer) Screening at Watsonville Library
The free events are Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening.

The award-winning documentary film El Andalón (The Healer) follows the steps of Don Sergio Castro, a modern-day hero who has served the people of Chiapas, Mexico for 50 years. The New York Times recently featured Don Sergio in an in-depth article.
This inspiring film about the power of one person working against all odds will screen at the Watsonville Main Library at noon Tuesday and 6 p.m. Thursday as part of the Binational Health Week in Santa Cruz County. These are FREE events and open to everyone. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles.
After the screenings we will have a Q&A discussion with the filmmakers and updates about Don Sergio and his humanitarian work.
About the film / filmmakersDirected and produced by Consuelo Alba and John Speyer, a husband and wife filmmaking team based in Watsonville, El Andalón (The Healer), their opera prima, has screened in more than 25 film festivals around the world and received five awards, including Audience Award for Best Documentary Short at the Santa Cruz Film Festival.

Binational Health Week (BHW) is the largest mobilization effort in the Americas to improve the health and well-being of the underserved Latino population living in the United States and Canada.
