YWCA Celebrates International Woman's Day

Planet Earth is home to 7 billion people.  One billion, or one in seven are poor and hungry with the vast majority being women.  Come and learn more about this issue locally and internationally, as the YWCA celebrates the contributions of women worldwide.  This lunch and program will take place onThursday, March 8, from 11 am until 2 pm, at the YWCA of Watsonville, 340 East Beach Street in Watsonville and will feature Marie Kagaju Laugharn and Margarita Cortez as two dynamic, powerful speakers.  Reservations are due by March 5, and can be made by calling (831) 722-1798, or email IWD.2012@yahoo.com.  Please provide your name as you would like it printed on a nametag and your choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian entree for lunch.  The cost for this great event is $20 and can be paid for at the door.  Don't forget to come prepared to purchase some raffle tickets for fabulous prizes.  All proceeds benefit the development of local women and girls.
