Fecal Matter Advisory Lifted At Monterey Municipal Beach
Bacteria levels have since returned to safe conditions for recreational activities, according to health officials.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — A beach advisory posted Tuesday at Monterey Municipal Beach has been lifted as of Thursday morning, according to Monterey County public health officials. Public health spokeswoman Karen Smith said the advisory was posted for the beach at 285 Figueroa St. after samples taken Tuesday showed the presence of feces.
Fecal matter can come from marine animals, birds, human activity and storm drains near bodies of water. Bacteria levels have since returned to safe conditions for recreational activities.
