Felon Arrested After Being Found Outside Restaurant With Gun

Alfredo Jose Garcia is being held on $25,000 bail at the Santa Cruz County Jail.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A convicted felon was arrested in Watsonville on Sunday after being reported as a suspicious man with a firearm outside of a restaurant, according to police.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Alfredo Jose Garcia, was arrested after a concerned citizen reported him acting suspiciously at an Applebee's at 1105 S. Green Valley Road. Police said Garcia tried to walk away when officers approached him, but they were able to detain him without incident.

According to police, a search allegedly found the gun and suspected cocaine in Garcia's pockets, along with two loaded magazines in his car. Garcia is being held on $25,000 bail at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
