Firefighters Quell 1 Acre Fire In Watsonville
Early Sunday morning, Cal Fire deployed several engines and a strike team to control a brush fire near Watsonville's Mt. Madonna.
WATSONVILLE, CA — Fire crews contained a 1-acre fire in Watsonville on Sunday morning, according to CalFire CZU.
The brush fire was reported at 7 a.m. at 350 Hecker Pass Rd. in Mt. Madonna, officials wrote on Twitter. The brusher prompted the fire agency to deploy three engines, two water tenders and a strike team to quell the blaze and put out hot spots.
Officials said the fire was not within the CZU Lighting Complex burn area.

The cause was still under investigation.
