Monterey Bay Aquarium Reopening Next Month
Tickets will go on sale July 1 for the Monterey Bay Aquarium, beloved by lovers of sealife across California.
MONTEREY, CA — The Monterey Bay Aquarium is set to reopen next month, with new restrictions in place.
The renowned aquarium closed during the coronavirus pandemic, but will reopen to the public July 13, with earlier entry for members, Monterey Bay Aquarium said on its website. Members will also be able to visit the aquarium from July 9 to July 12.
Tickets go on sale July 1.

A maximum of 250 guests per hour will be allowed in the aquarium, KSBW reported. Face coverings will be required for all guests, except those two years old and younger, and people with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing face coverings, the aquarium said.
Guests should stay home if they experience a fever or cough, and must stay six feet away from others, the aquarium said. Guests will follow a one-way path through the building.

Staff will clean the premises, particularly high-touch areas, throughout the day, the aquarium said. There will be increased circulation of fresh air in the building and volunteers will keep an eye on the open-air ocean view deck to ensure crowding is limited.
Contactless ordering will be instituted at The Cafe, where tables will be spaced out to ensure social distancing, the aquarium said.
The Restaurant will be closed, as will feeding shows, tours, auditorium programs, the splash zone area and the Soaring with Seaboards program. The souvenir shop will remain open.
