Police Blotter: Laptop, 80 iPads Stolen From Schools

In an unrelated case, a man was pistol-whipped with an Airsoft gun during a robbery.





A burglar stole 80 iPads and one laptop from a storage room at the Pajaro Valley Unified School District shipping and receiving area. 

The theft happened over the weekend. It was reported around 11:45 a.m. on the 200 block of Green Valley Road. 

The employee who reported the theft said the crime may have occurred after an alarm to the building went off Friday evening when the facility was closed.

Wednesday,  July 31
Robbery: A man forced his way into another person's room on the 600 block of West Beach Street and stole his laptop just after midnight. During the struggle, the robber hit the victim in the face with an Airsoft gun.
Theft: A woman dropped her wallet at the Discount Mall on Rodriguez Street. Someone picked it up and stole it.

Loud Noise: A 42-year-old man was cited for disturbing the peace with loud music on the 100 block of Oliveira Loop around 7:30 p.m.

Marijuana Possession: A man on probation was arrested for having concentrated cannabis during a search of his Almar Avenue home.

Tuesday, July 30
Theft: A bike that was chained to a mausoleum at Pioneer Cemetery was stolen during the early-morning hours.

Vandalism: A car was scratched on the 200 block of East Beach Street overnight. Damage tops $400.

DUI: A motorist was arrested for driving under the influence on Pennsylvania Drive and South Green Valley Road around 9:20 p.m.

Monday, July 29
Drugs: A 46-year-old man stopped for running a red light on was caught with vial of methamphetamine and a meth pipe on Kearney and Rodriguez streets around 12:25 p.m.

Vandalism: Gang tags were scratched on the bathroom wall and door at a business on the 1500 block of Freedom Boulevard.

Theft: A woman and another person stole items from a business on the 1000 block of Main Street. The woman, age 40, was arrested.

Shoplifting: A 44-year-old man was arrested for stealing a bottle of vodka from CVS around 8 p.m.

Drug Paraphernalia: A 34-year-old man was ticketed for having a hypodermic needle, which he tried to toss when officers contacted him on the 100 block of Landis Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Disorderly Conduct: A drunk woman was arrested when police were called to a family disturbance on the 200 block of Locust Street just before 10 p.m.
