Stabbing Suspect Arrested In Watsonville

Officers found a 60-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen.

WATSONVILLE, CA -- A man was behind bars Saturday for allegedly stabbing a victim behind a Watsonville shopping center. Police said officers responded to the incident at 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Main Street.

Arriving officers found a 60-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was in stable condition, police said.

Rene Lozano, 47, was identified as the suspect and taken into custody Saturday afternoon, police said.

Lozano was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County jail on one count of attempted murder. His bail was set at $375,000.
