Watsonville Telescope Company, Restaurant Co-Host Moon-Viewing Party

The free family-friendly event is Friday.

Have you ever gazed through a telescope to see a Moon crater up close? Now is your chance! 

Props Restaurant and Lounge is hosting Orion Telescopes & Binoculars for a Moon Viewing Party from 7-10 p.m. Friday. This family event is geared towards amateurs and beginning stargazers. Orion’s expert astronomers will be on hand with a few of their telescopes and binoculars, ready to answer questions and teach folks how to use their equipment.

  • Free Public Telescope Viewing of the Moon & Venus (clear skies permitting.)
  • Free entrance for the community
  • Raffle Prizes, including a tabletop telescope, stargazer’s toolkits, gift cards to Props and more!  – must be present to win.
  • Astrophotography slide show (Rain or Shine!)
  • “Out of this World” Dinner and Drink Specials by Props, in addition to their regular menu items

Props “Out of This World” menu specials include a Bleu Moon Skirt Steak Salad with bleu cheese crumbles for $11.95, Planetary Pasta (Seafood Fettuccine in a cream sauce) for $18.95, & a Twilight Teriyaki Rib-eye Dinner for $19.95. Drink specials include a Moonlight Margarita and a "Mars"tini for $7.50 each.

For the kiddos there will be Planet Punch (non-alcoholic) for $1.75 and an Inter-Planetary Ice Cream Sandwich (vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies) for $3.50.
