When is the First Day of School in Watsonville?

Of course, the calendar just flipped over to August and families are smack in the middle of enjoying summer vacations. 

But, back-to-school commercials hawking new clothes are already being shown on TV and that time of year is really just around the corner. 

So, even though you are most likely still heading to the beach and pool, soaking up those rays of summer, here are some important things to know when it comes to the Pajaro Valley Unified School District's 2013-14 calendar.

• Turn in "Back to School Registration Packet": High schoolers, turn them in Monday, Aug. 5 to Friday, Aug. 9 at your school campuses. Younger students, check with your schools.
• First Day of School: Monday, Aug. 19
