5 Crimes Weho Won't Forget

West Hollywood saw its share of trouble and tragedy this year.

As the year comes to a close, Weho Patch takes a look back at crime in the community. There were the predictable celebrity arrests, a not so predictable fork stabbing, and a very serious transgender attack. Take a look at the five crimes we won't forget.

Pop singer Christina Aguilera was arrested March 1 on suspicion of public intoxication when she reportedly was found "incapacitated'' in the passenger seat of a vehicle driven by her boyfriend, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The vehicle, driven by Matthew Rutler, was stopped by deputies at about 2:45 a.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Clark Street.

Two men were fighting outside the when several others joined in, kicking one man on the ground at about 11:25 p.m. on April 11. The suspects fled from the nightclub's rear parking lot, striking two pedestrians. Both the driver, 20-year-old Eduardo Gomez, and the passenger, 18-year-old Jesus Gomez, were arrested.

Deputies were flagged down around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 24, regarding a possible assault with deadly weapon after a security guard broke up an argument between a man and a woman behind the . The woman had allegedly stabbed a man above the eyes with a fork in the parking lot then fled on foot eastbound on Sunset Boulevard before deputies arrived.

West Hollywood sheriff's deputies responded to shots fired in at 9:55 p.m. Nov. 17. The victim, a transgender female, was allegedly walking inside the park when a black male suspect took out a small semi-automatic weapon and demanded her purse. The suspect fired one shot and left the location in an unknown direction.

Deputies were called to the Sunset Strip at about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 after Rapper Tyler the Creator allegedly destroyed an electronic soundboard belonging to the during a show. When deputies arrested the 20-year-old rapper, fans exiting the venue became angry and rushed into the street. Tyler the Creator was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism at the West Hollywood Sheriff's station and released on $20,000 bail.
