At 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, millions of Californians will participate in ShakeOut, the largest earthquake drill ever. The purpose of the ShakeOut is to practice how to protect ourselves during earthquakes, and to get prepared at work, school and home.
Earthquakes are an inevitable part of the future of California, and residents should make plans and take actions to ensure that disasters don’t become catastrophes. With this in mind, the Earthquake Country Alliance created the ShakeOut, an earthquake drill and preparedness activity in which everyone can participate.
