Reminder: L.A. Marathon Street & Parking Lot Closures

The Los Angeles Marathon has taken place in the City of Los Angeles since 1986. In 2010, the City of West Hollywood accommodated the L.A. Marathon’s new “Stadium to the Sea” route by approving the course to pass through West Hollywood.  As in 2010, the 2011 marathon route will begin at Dodger Stadium and finish at the Santa Monica Pier.

West Hollywood is one of four cities on the L.A. Marathon route including Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica.

To accommodate the 2011 LA Marathon, the following West Hollywood street closures have been approved on Sunday, March 20, 2011 between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m.:

  • Sunset Boulevard between North Havenhurst Drive and Clark Street/North San Vicente Boulevard
  • North San Vicente Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Melrose Avenue
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and North Doheny Drive
  • North Doheny Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard
  • West Hollywood Park temporary parking lot and the West Hollywood Library parking lot

This year runners will enter West Hollywood at Sunset Boulevard and Havenhurst Drive on the city’s eastside and head west on Sunset Boulevard passing by several landmarks including the and legendary music venues, such as the and the .

Runners will then turn left onto San Vicente Boulevard and right onto Santa Monica Boulevard, past the , before exiting West Hollywood at Doheny Drive, where they will enter Beverly Hills.

An estimated 30,000 runners will experience iconic landmarks in the City of West Hollywood between miles 13 and 15 of the 26.2-mile course.
