LA Marathon Online Registration Closed, Limited Expo Sign-Ups

Runners wishing to register for the 26th Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss will have one more chance to get into the March 20 race, but only via in-person registration this coming Friday and Saturday, at the L.A. Marathon Expo.

Online registration closed over the weekend, but a flood of requests to register in person has led to a limited opportunity to get into the race at the Expo.

“We’re looking at a similarly-sized field as in last year's race,” said LA MARATHON LLC chief operating officer Nick Curl. “We’ll have about 1,000 spots available for registration at this week’s Expo on a first-come, first-served basis.”

The Expo will take place at Dodger Stadium on Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, with free admission and free parking. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. There will be live entertainment and more than 100 fitness and running exhibitors showcasing the latest products and technologies.

The devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami that has struck Japan has already impacted the running community, as the important Nagoya Women’s Marathon – which was to have been run on Sunday, March 13 – was cancelled. A special set of donation links have been set up for runners, family and friends to offer support for relief efforts in Japan:
