Applications for the West Hollywood Youth Scholarship Program are currently being accepted through April 30 for local residents graduating from high school this spring and continuing on to college or trade school in the fall.
In an effort to help support local youth pay for college, the City has established a first-of-its-kind West Hollywood Youth Scholarship Program that awards $1,500 to students who complete 150 hours of community service. All current West Hollywood high school seniors or students receiving their GED who perform a minimum of 150 approved community service hours are eligible for the Youth Scholarship Program.
The West Hollywood Youth Scholarship Program was created in 2007 to help offset the rising costs of post-secondary education for students and their families while encouraging young people to perform community service. It is one of the first municipal government sponsored scholarship programs in the country.
