Anti-Semitic Vandal Caught On Camera In West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — The West Hollywood Sheriff's Station is searching for a suspect who vandalized a business with graffiti that "appeared to be anti-Semitic" and is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The vandalism occurred between 2 and 8 a.m. on December 31, 2019, in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

"The graffiti, that appeared to be anti-Semitic, was located on the front of the business window and clearly visible from Santa Monica Boulevard," the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said.

A similar incident may have also occurred on December 29, 2019, in the 8900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, and it is also being investigated.

A nearby business provided surveillance video of a white adult male, who is a suspect in the Dec. 31 incident. The investigation is ongoing and will be handled by the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station Detectives, authorities said.

Nearby in Beverly Hills, a synagogue was vandalized and relics were damaged in December. A Pennsylvania man was arrested and plead not guilty to one count each of vandalism of religious property and second-degree burglary in connection to the incident.
