2 Beverly Hills Leaders Back Weho's Brad Torgan

The 50th Assembly District candidate from West Hollywood earns endorsements from Beverly Hills Vice Mayor John Mirisch and school board's Lisa Korbatov.

Two Beverly Hills civic leaders have endorsed West Hollywood's Brad Torgan in the hotly contested 50th Assembly District race.

Torgan’s campain announced Tuesday the endorsement of Beverly Hills Vice Mayor John Mirisch and former Beverly Hills Board of Education President and Beverly Hills Unified School District Governing Board Member Lisa Korbatov.

"Beverly Hills leaders like Lisa and John understand the unique challenges facing state and local government in California," Torgan said, "and I am proud that they believe I am the best candidate for the citizens of Beverly Hills and the State of California."

Korbatov believes Torgan will bring fresh, new leadership to the State Assembly.

"We need someone like Brad Torgan who has served his local community to listen and speak up for local communities—not special interests—in Sacramento," the BHUSD board member said in a statement.

Mirisch concurred, calling Torgan a uniquely qualified candidate.

"Brad Torgan understands the challenges facing California and, unconstrained by any Insiders' Club of partisan party politics, he is unafraid to actually do something to try to solve our state's problems," Mirisch said in a statement.
