Friday's Scoop: Take Your Dog to Work Day
Businesses, animal shelters and pet-care professionals throughout Weho will open their doors to employees' furry companions.
Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Friday in West Hollywood:
Main Event:
Businesses worldwide have been opening their workplaces to employees’ four-legged friends since 1999, according to Pet Sitters International's Take Your Dog to Work Day website. Local participating companies include Machinima Inc. on Santa Monica Boulevard and H&M Communications on Holloway Plaza Drive. The , a canine training center and social club at 726 North La Brea Ave., is holding a "Yappy Hour" from 5-8 p.m. Admission is $10 per dog, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to local animal welfare organizations.

Other Happenings:
- The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival presents Identity as an Act of Courage from 2-4 p.m. at 's West Hollywood Community Center. The workshop is free, donations accepted.Â
- The West Coast run of the dramatic gay rap opera BASH’d continues at West Hollywood’s Celebration Theatre Friday at 8 p.m. The 70-minute show tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers narrated through the comedic rhymes of characters named T-Bag and Feminem.Â
- Family-friendly film Megamind is screening at  at 8 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and blanket. Admission is free. Snacks will be provided.

- The National Weather Service predicts patchy fog before 11 a.m., gradually clearing. West Hollywood will heat up to around 76, with temperatures dropping to the mid-50s by the evening.Â
