Groundlings LA Launches Summer, Teen Comedy & Improv Classes

Who's funnier than your kid? No one, right? Register him or her for sessions with Groundlings Theatre & School in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Groundlings Theatre & School, the legendary training ground for such comics as Melissa McCarthy, Will Ferrell, Ana Gasteyer, Cheryl Hines, Lisa Kudrow and Jon Lovitz, is lining up summer, comedy sketch & improv classes for youngsters throughout Los Angeles County.

The teen camps, five days for improv sessions or one day for teen drop-ins, will be virtual for 2021, kicking off in July, with registration underway. Class ages are: 10-13 and 14-18.

These Groundlings School's teen improv and sketch comedy camps will introduces youth to "The Groundlings’ unique style" — meaning a focus on characters, improvisation, sketch writing and acting — via games and improv exercises, according to organizers.

Offered via Zoom are two offerings: five-day class series ($225); or one-day drop-ins ($45). And on the last workshop day, parents and friends can tune in to observe the final, 30 minutes in an “open class” format.
