To Korean Americans I Submit Robert Reich As Evidence re: Mural

I rarely, if ever, defer to someone else (exaggeration for emphasis,) but before I defer to Professor Reich, who will be able to explain this inadvertent opening of a never healing wound, he is teaching in CA, so, somehow I think the electronic super highway grape vine will deliver him a PATCH of More Blue and Grapes, not of wrath, but comfort, I would like to say I did some research and what I thought would be true, seems to be just that- Steven Spielberg is so wise to disparagement, please refer to the art work of his feature film, that had been released worldwide, Empire of the Sun. He dared to make the sun a peach, out of courtesy, consider the title, "Empire." The choice is almost poetic, a la, e.e. cummings, whose poem, Do I Dare To Eat A Peach made a huge impact on me when I was a teenager.

Even though my closest friends have reacted with incredulity, I do believe Mr. Spielberg, together with Tony Kushner, and the inadvertent assailant of Puerto Rico, Stephen Sondheim, will correct the most unintentional artistic slight I have ever known. In West Side Story, the song that won Rita Moreno an Oscar and made her a triple award winning actress- Tony, Emmy & Oscar, "America" makes Puerto Rico into a separate entity from the U.S.A., when it was not a separate entity. I do believe it has led to the wrong impression of so many, as art has such a huge impact. This does not excuse the hateful treatment of Puerto Rico and our fellow Americans after such a devastating hurricane, and I believe the remake of the movie, West Side Story, will correct this mistake of Mr. Sondheim's and all those who collaborated on one of the greatest musicals of all time.
