The POZ Life Weekend Seminar is a place where compassion, education, community and love is offered unconditionally. There are no demographic boundaries. It's a place HIV+ men, women, and family members can come be themselves, feel comforted and supported in their effort to learn how to either live a long healthy productive POZitive lifestyle, or help someone they know an love overcome the fears associated with being HIV+.

The diverse group of Presenters, Volunteers and Staff effectively reach out and relate to specific issues that can concern and equally diverse group of men, women, people of color, gay men and heterosexual HIV positive and negative individuals. Age is not relevant in most cases, however each community and culture has specific needs for support, and each is addressed in breakout or concurrent sessions according to the specific demographic majority of the enrolled number of participants.

Workshops are extremely interactive. Presenters always welcome questions and comments. The belief is that presenters and volunteers are not the only ones sharing and teaching. The magic occurs when participants also reach out and help one another with helpful information, suggestions, support and tips.

The Life Group LA is a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of persons both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being.

Founded in 2005 The Life Group LA provides free of charge, much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZLife Weekend Seminar. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding.

Safety, respect and confidentiality are the cornerstones of our philosophy. We accomplish this by providing trained support group facilitators for our emotional support groups and our POZ Life
Weekend Seminar. These facilitators have been trained in the art of active listening and conduct themselves with empathy and compassion.
