Monday's Scoop: City Council Says 'Shahs of Sunset' Perpetuates Stereotypes
Council will consider condemning the new reality TV show about local Iranian-Americans.
Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Monday in West Hollywood:
West Hollywood City Council will consider adopting a resolution condemning the new reality TV show Shahs of Sunset. Also on the agenda is a public hearing in which Council will discuss approving a settlement regarding the operation of the Klean Treatment Center at 840 - 854½ Hilldale Ave. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the West Hollywood Library.

Zahra Bates is the featured "guest bartender" in the series. Bates got her start at the Chateau Marmont, and has chased the cocktail from Jamaica to Cuba to London. Monday nights are also "Industry Nights" at the Sunset Strip bar, and feature select cocktails and bar bites priced $3 to $8.
The nightclub manager, promoter, musician, DJ and author will be at at 7 p.m. to discuss his The Drunk Diet: How I Lost 40 Pounds... Wasted: A Memoir. According to the Book Soup author event description, it's a story about "how one chain-smoking, cheeseburger-eating, hard-partying rock 'n roller grew into an avid runner and cyclist."
The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny weather, with a high near 61 and a low around 45. West Hollywood will see calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 miles per hour, and partly cloudy skies by the evening.
